Sad in Cantonese: 傷心 [soeng1 sam1]

There are two adjective(形容詞)you can use to express sad in Cantonese.  For the first one, adjective 傷心 [soeng1 sam1] means sad in Cantonese.

ngo5 zan1 hai6 hou2 soeng1 sam1 aa3 gam1 jat6。

我真係好傷心啊今日。

I am really sad today.

Sad in Cantonese: 唔開心 [m4 hoi1 sam1]

Apart from 傷心 [soeng1 sam1], you can also negate adjective 開心 [hoi1 sam1] with adverb 唔 [m4] to express sad in Cantonese.  開心 [hoi1 sam1] means happy.

ngo5 zan1 hai6 hou2 m4 hoi1 sam1 aa3 gam1 jat6。

我真係好唔開心啊今日。

I am really sad today.
